This Georgian mansion was developed around a fortified medieval tower with links to the Knights Templar. The house is grade I listed and LSA have been appointed to project manage the installation of a wood pellet biomass heating system. This innovative project will reduce the carbon emmissions of the heating sysem by 97% and qualify for support from Ofgem's Renewable Heat Incentive. Reducing fuel costs by over 30%, the system will also deliver considerable environmental benefits to the National Trust in their objective to reduce carbon emmissions by 50%.

This is the second biomass heating system managed by LSA for the National Trust ; the first system was installed at Allan Bank in Grasmere, the former home of William Worsdworth and Canon Rawnsley, a founding member of the Trust.
